BKerensky: I am an avid anime fan, so, yes, I know Gundam like the back of my hand. I went so far to adapt Heavy Gear RPG system to the Gundam universe so that my friends and me can play our own role in the U.C. universe. I own large quantities of Gundam models and almost any TV, OAV series and movie on DVDs, as well as illustration books and so on.
Gundam was a cornerstone in japanese animation and there's no way I can't be into it. Platlabor, Five Star Stories, Macross are other Japanese series I love both for mechanical design and overall history. As for other series, my friends and I play the Heavy Gear RPG, but my knowledge stops at the basic rulebook; I wanted to expand my background but such books are extremely hard to find and expensive.
As for Armored Core I bought pre-owned a copy of the second game -- fun, but never really got into it. I also own the two Zone of the Enders. The game's mecha design is very good (a transformable Vic Viper!), but both games are so boring - ... more.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
