Just a white sheet and a few holes in it ... than decorate the sheet pretty much with diferent colour painted ...has this is probably his last year...the sheet that he can use can be a good memory has well, he can ask all his friends to sign up and write something abt the halloween on his sheet, so it isnt expensive and I think it would be a good memory to later on in his life to be remembered has well... :-) Sources: Ok inexpensive would be a "gosht" .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
