Sara Douglass and Jacqueline Carey are two of my favorite female authors. Sara Douglass has "The Wayfarer Redemption", "The Crucible", and "The Troy Game" series. I've read them all and all are excellent.

I haven't had a chance to read her newest series yet. George R.R. Martin is an excellent author. "A Song of Ice and Fire".

I'm still waiting on the final book to come out. Terry Goodkind wrote "The Sword of Truth" novels. I enjoy Kurt Vonnegut (Jr?).

He has a book of short stories. I think it's called "Cat's Cradle". Very sci-fi.H.G. Wells is another favorite.

Currently re-reading "The War of the Worlds" and "The Time Machine". Hope this helps. :) .

If you have school age kids in your family, Brian Jacques writes beautiful stories.

Eddings is a hard act to follow, (and there won't be any more from Eddings) you might look into Terry Brooks, and Brandon Sanderson.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
