Honest question to Atheists......Honest answers, please...?

Nobody likes seeing hate so let's keep it out of this, shall we?" That is the problem. Hatred against members of society for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

I am atheist. I am NOT a member of any atheist community (I've never encountered one), I do not "support homosexuality", but I do support people's right to love each other, and for adults to have consensual sex with each other, without prejudice. Don't get me wrong, I don't run around shouting gay rights - but free of an Iron Age frozen set of moralities that were laid down by a society that embraced the subjugation of women, girl brides for sale, slavery, intolerance of other religions, and concubines - I have no issue with homosexuality.

Why should I? They do no harm.

Over 20 years ago I did something very similar to that. I had been urged to imagine some kind of God or higher power and talk to it, and then to ask for help. So I tried it.

Unlike most atheists and theists I had very little interest in matters of belief; I just tried it to see what would happen. I decided that I would try it out for 3 weeks and then evaluate it. Within a few seconds it answered me and then we had many long conservations.

I reported this to my friends who at first were pleased - and then began to look a bit worried. After about a week it got out of control; I began to sense more and more entities out there - and they were not all friends. There was the dualism found in many religions: A Super Good entity Vs A Super Evil Entity.

I abruptly cut the experiment short. Very soon, all the entities vanished. It eventually became clear that I had created them all in my imagination.

I think I could - if I chose to - adopt the beliefs of almost any religion. But there is a certain clarity of mind I have some of the time and I do not want to do anything to damage that.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
