I want to hook up a roku to my TV to watch Netflix instant movies. I understand that I need to connect it to the internet through an ethernet connection on my computer. My computer is about 40 feet away from the my big TV that I watch, but I would need about a 75 ft long cable. Do I have it right.

The Roku would connect to my TV and to my computer through an ethernet connection and cable. Has anyone used this long a cable for this purpose? Did it work okay?

I haven't bought the Roku yet...is there a less expensive way to watch Netflix movies on my TV. Asked by Geppetto 25 months ago Similar questions: Hooking Roku Consumer Electronics.

Your Roku digital video player should be placed close enough to your TV or audio / video receiver for the cables to reach. The front of your player should be clear of obstruction so your remote can send commands to your player. If you are connecting wirelessly, your player should be close enough to your wireless access point or router to pick up a strong signal when connecting.

You can move your player higher or away from obstructions to potentially increase signal strength. Sometimes purchasing a wireless extender or booster will also help increase your signal strength throughout your home. How do I hook my Roku digital video player up to my broadband home network and the Internet?

The Roku digital video player is easy to connect to your broadband home network. Your player supports both wireless and wired connections. Where can I find the wireless MAC and/or wired MAC addresses of my Roku digital video player?

You can find the MAC addresses on the back on your player. Sources: http://roku.com/support/faqs .

Your computer must have a Video card with a TV-OUT connector. Ya. Sure its not a problem about a feet.

You can just follow these instructions. It is possible to connect your PC to your television set to enjoy DivX, FLV or DVD video formats compatible on your computer but on no other available players. There are simple ways to do so but both your PC and your TV set must meet some requirements.

Requirements for your PCYour computer must have a Video card with a TV-OUT connector. The connection will normally be intergrated in your Video card and located at the back of your computer. You can also do this with your laptop as most of them have this type of connector.

A TV-OUT connector cable will be plugged in both devices to link them to each other. The cable can indicate which line goes in and which one goes out, so bear in mind that you plug IN your TV set OUT from your computer. The following illustration should make it easy to understand how the connection should be made.

You will also have to get a LINE-IN for your Soundcard from your TV to your computer. Requirements for your TV setYou will have to get the same kind of connector for your TV set called the TV-IN or VIDEO-IN connector. However, you will also have to get a LINE-OUT connector of the Soundcard.

If you do not have a correct connector for your TV, you can either use your VCR or an additional round connector that looks like an antenna connector device. With your VCR, you can set your TV to the VCR channel. ConfigurationsYou have to change the Windows settings for the connection to be successful.

Right-click on the desktopClick propertiesIn the menu to select TV outputIf after several attempts without success, your 1024 or more may cause some concerns then reduce the resolution to 800x600. NotesThe menu appears only if everything is connected correctly. The S-video cable was originally in black and white.

The s-video has a horizontal keywayCurrently on new computers, manufacturers are finally connecting the color, the same goes for TVs. The S-video color are more than pin cable black and white. Read more on.

2 We got Apple TV and it works like a charm. Don't know if it is more or less expensive than Roku but it's wireless so if you have a wireless network set up you're good to go and don't have to worry about cables (except to hook up to your TV).

3 Roku also has wireless, if you have a wi-fi port set up. There should be absolutely no problem with a 75 foot Ethernet cable. Ethernet does that all the time.

I haven't tried it with a Roku but the standards require it to handle that.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
