How can human beings believe in a benevolent God but still abuse, torture and treat animals in unspeakably cruel ways?

Animals are not ours to eat, wear, kill for no reason, decimate their habitat, and lastly, use them for useless Laboratory experiments which never really produce any results but pain and agonizing death for the animals. Cruelty to animals while they may say they beleive in god, can they really beleive if they have the urge to kill and mame animals, I think people have no conscience if they can do such things. I think animals that are killed for food is ok, after all we do have to eat. But I have seen so many pictures of such senseless torture to animals that it is unspeakable.

They are here to love and for us to take care of not to take ot our frustrations on and torture. My dog family member is treated like part of the family and we truly feel that she is part of the family. God help the ones that are not..

He cares about the animals: "And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? " (Jonah 4:11) God cares about the cattle; what you're tripping on is that God cares about YOU more. Thus, in allowing you space to repent, receive and be saved from the consequences of your sins, He is allowing you (and every other human) some measure of ability to choose for her or himself.

Thus, to get what He wants, God must permit us choice, whether we use that ability to bless others or kill an inconvenient baby when she's only 30 weeks old, God must permit evil so that humans even have the ability to choose to love Thus, the question to you, dear , is whether you will trust God that He knows what He's doing and really loves you and allow m to forgive you or whether you're going to use your imagined defense of animals as an excuse to ignore God forever. Not sure that the arguement that we should not eat animals is valid. Animals eat each other, and our bodies (though most of us can sucessfully go vegetarian if we understand our dietary needs) seem to be designed as meat eaters.

The debauchery of animals -- even the way we treat 'companion' animals (the suffering of dogs in this world, our closest companion animals that seem to willingly serve us --) is possibly one of humankind's most unwritten, unrecognized sins -- it's pathetic. The way animals raised for food or lab experiments could be much better regulated, for sure. These animals suffer immensely.

I'd like to think that true Christians would be awed by all of God's creatures, love them and take care of them. If some are for us to eat, as most Christians DO believe, then keep them in humane conditions and even let their death be quick, humane, and painless.

2 The real answer is that belief in God doesn't mean that people are good. Most people are hypocrites, or worse, outright liars. Going to church and praying does not automatically transfer into being godly.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
