Fencing, fencing, fencing Trust me, I have some professional experience here. You need to put up lots of adequate fencing that runs deep into the soil, and sometimes completely surrounds your veg like a fine mesh cage - and it better be made of a thick metal. Otherwise there are no guarantees or quick fixes.
Some people will try to tell you that the following deterrents will work: Cayenne Pepper - the spicy capsacin will deter only the squirrels that aren't STARVING hungry. And the pepper wears off with each rain. So you'll go through a fortune in spices and spend your summer seasoning your vegetables.
Moth Balls - again, these won't keep away the hungriest squirrels, and these are DANGEROUS to leave lying around. The chemicals they emit are toxic to animals and children, and I wouldn't want them anywhere near my vegetables. Mixes, Tonics, & Spray Repellents - see the cayenne pepper notes Repellent sachets and bags - rarely ever work, I received first-hand complaints from MANY customers who said squirrels LIKE to eat them.
Bottom line is that you need to invest in some fine mesh thick wire cages to surround your veg, if it's really important to save all for yourself. As an added incentive for the squirrels to stay away, some people try putting out distracting squirrel feeding stations. But bottom line is that fencing is the only way to go.

I was going to ask who won the fight. I live in a concrete garden (the city). We give our squirrels names..
No squirrels... My Mom used to put out these no kill traps out for the squirrels. She lived near Mt. Vernon and there are tons of squirrels.
She would trap them and take them to Mt. Vernon and let them out. It used to scare me to death for fear one of these little varmits would bite her.
She never worried about that. You may want to put something in your garden that squirrels do not like. I have a spray that is called No Squirrels.
They do not like the smell. Another way is to put a fence with a screen over your garden so the squirrels could not get to the vegetables. I know they are a pain.

I love to answer questions like these, I happen to have an honorary degree in "pest control and wildlife management" from the "Persnicula Academy of Useless Honorary Titles. " so here goes. You need to protect yourself first from squirrels.
They are going to raid and pillage your vegetable patch because that is what they are born to do. Make sure that you take cover if they bring out the big armaments such as hand grenades and bazookas. In my website search, I found a squirrel powder that is supposed to repet small rodents.
critter-repellent.com/squirrel/squirrel-... I don't know if you want to go this route, i'm not sure if I would, as I have a lot of dogs and chickens that roam around my yard freely. I've heard of other people who have had trouble with squirrels. I really don't, I don't have a lot of trees near my house, it's all fields. So, I have deer and rabbits.
To keep the rabbits out of my cabbage I put a small chicken wire fence up and planted marigolds between the cabbage and on the outside of the fence. Of course, a small chicken wire fence won't protect your corn from squirrels since they are good climbers, jumpers, and basically nuisance stealers-- but you might want to consider the marigolds being planted in your garden. It DOES work against the rabbits, it might make squirrels think about going elsewhere. Also, you might want to consider planting EXTRA next year.
Or you could put some of that dry ear corn out that they sell in the bird seed section, it may cost you a little bit but it may keep them from going for YOUR corn. There are a lot of bird feeders that are supposed to be squirrel proof, but I don't think that they reall are. I hate to be a pessimist but I'm not really sure if you are going to solve this issue unless you or someone sits outside with a BB gun or pellet gun and just nail the little suckers when they go towards your garden.

I don't think you can. At least I havn't found away to yet. The biggest cause for this I find is lack of rain.
They are thirsty. They don't like tomatoes but will take one bite out of them to get the juice and leave the rest. You can try leaving some bowls of water around the garden for them this might help..
