Vegetable Garden Soil Conditioning: It's that time again, but the garden beds are tired. How do I fertilize? Every year we add composted cow manure to the soil, but I think the garden needs a boost.

1 Coffee grounds, crushed egg shells, and from a lumber yard get some sawdust ( saw dust is about 1/2 cup per square foot once every other year). Now if you can get to a pond or the ocean: Gather the growing seaweeds, or pong growths and till them into your soil also as a great organic additive. One should always test the ph of the soil areas with a cheap kit tester ( under 9 dollars ): I have one that looks like and works like a meat tester ( lol ).

And, if your ground is clay like adding then some sand tilled in also aids rapid veggie growth.Blessings........Annlee .

3 They have small test kit chemical strips and the one I use like you just poke it in the ground and wait a couple minutes while it reads the results: They also have probe electronic meters for under 30 dollars.Blessings....Annlee .

4 Yes, thank you Annlee. I was think of you the other day ~ you had a homemade fertilizer you mentioned this time I think last year, for the grass. I have my granddaughter walking now and the Guinea Pigs are outside when it is warm and I don't like to use regular fertilizer.

I would love the recipe told us about last year for the grass. Thank you so much! You are garden girl!

5 We let our garden rest for a year, adding the compost in the fall turned it in. We then planted clover that we later turned in late summer also still adding compost! The following year after a well cared rest we had bumper crops!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
