How contagious is the NDM-1 superbug?

NDM-1 superbug is contagious but not as swine flu. Patient suffering from NDM-1 superbug is contagious from the first day of its diagnosis. The moment a person with the NDM-1 superbug has been identified or diagnosed in hospital, he/she will be doctor’s disposal in the hospital and doctors will take every precaution / health precautions.

Outside the hospital or without admitted patients, the risk of getting NDM-1 through person to person is rare. Hospital in London and another in Nottingham have confirmed they have treated patients with the new NDM-1 'superbug'. Without hospital setting, NDM-1 is rare.

NDM-1 has infected those persons who returned to the UK after undergoing surgery in India or Pakistan. Admitted patient in hospital carrying the tainted bacteria was transferred to a Nottingham hospital at the end of last year after suffering a trauma injury in Pakistan. The UK resident was found to have a colony of the enzyme of NDM-1 on their SKIN (NOT BOWEL).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
