I somehow acquired a virus and it created a new user on my computer titled "Administrator. " My account is already an administrator and now I have two. I tried to remove the user, but I cannot do it through the control panel.

You can't In Vista as in XP you already have an account called "Administrator". You can rename it but you cannot delete it. In Vista, You as a local admin is not the same as it would have been in XP.It is kind of a watered down admin.
The "Administrator" account is a "Super admin" or the same as all admins were in XP. By default it is present but hidden. Something unlocked it.
Change the password on the Admin account and e done with it. This will prevent it from being used by an inadvertently acknowledged script as it will now have to have a password..
The two accounts sound normal and natural on Vista. On Vista -- unlike it was with Windows XP -- it's perfectly normal for you to have an account with administrator privileges AND for there to be an "Administrator" account that isn't you. It's actually a security feature where the normal user can no longer be on the system as the only administrator account.
That being said, there's no ability to wipe out the account, and it's okay that it's there. If you're sure the virus is gone from your system everything should be fine. Perhaps you just didn't notice that the configuration included the two accounts previously.
If I've misunderstood your question, feel free to send a note, but I suspect you're fine. Hope that helps! .

2 I know this question is closed but I had a similar situation where an administrator account was created and my account switch it local administrator for vista. I was able to fix it by opening the command prompt window and typing "net user administrator /active:no" (without the quotes) and clicked enter. Once it said it was done successfully, I restarted the computer and the super admin account was gone.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
