Frankly, I think sexuality is a non-issue. If someone wants to protect my rights and defend my country, they could be doing a paper bag for all I care. It shouldn't be an issue of whether or not a soldier is gay, but how well they do their job.
Same as in every other job field.
As long as gays comport themselves well and do a good job in the military, what they do off the base is their business.
I don't care what their sexuality is, as long as they believe in our country and defend it well. It is their choice to defend us and I thank each and every one of those soldiers. It doesn't matter what they do in their private lives, just as it shouldn't matter in any other job, profession, education program, etc.
Issues of any kind are raising from thinking that people can/should be judged or be seen or treated different for some reason. Please help us all for the world to a better place and treat every person with equal respect!
I personally feel like if they want to do this wonderful service to our country they should. Gay guys make some straight guys uneasy, which in the military it would be best for one to feel as comfortable as you can be while doing your job. I know a wonderful gay Marine who loves his job, but can't fully be himself.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
