In the beginning knitting is very frustrating. I recommend getting a good knitting book with illustrated instructions and/or a stitch book. Get a book with color pictures and not drawings or black and white, as the color images are much easier to see and make a lot more sense (One Skein Wonders is a great knitting book as well as all of the Harmony Guides, and Vogue knitting books).
I recommend the color pictures because I went off of black and white pictures and realized two years later I had been knitting through the back loop and not the front. It had created some really interesting knits, but I am happy to know the difference now. You can also go on U-Tube now and watch how to knit videos which also show some great techniques!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
