Melt the ends of the cord to tidy it up. The very End of the cord isn't used for supporting any weight or force so melting the ends simply keeps it together. As for using it in all of the "unexpected emergencies", have you actually simulated some of these situations and attempted to use paracord for the purposes you are suggesting?
If not, give it a try. See how useful the cord truely is for what you are expecting. You fall, get stuck or trapped: how is it actually going to help you.
Specifically. Climbing a rock face? I see this a lot.
If you are at the bottom of the rock, how will this cord help you? Climbers don't use it as climbing rope for a reason. Paracord is great around camp to hang something (tarp, clothes line, etc) or bind something, but in a lot of situations, it isn't what it is cracked up to be.
See the link below from survivalist site that boils cord down for something great for to tie stuff with.
Yes small rope, but I always tape the ends before cutting thru the tape it keeps it tidy. Also buy yourself a basic knot book and learn a few essential knots.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
