I add tuna to Lipton shells and white cheddar and frozen peas, for less than five dollars. My family loves it. The recipe is in my hub Feed Four for Four.
I mix chunk tuna, mushrooms, chopped onions,, cream style corn, mushroom soup and shell noodles and top it with grated parmesan cheese and then bake it in a 300 F oven. If you are interested, the recipe is on my Hub.
I don't no because my camplong nothing a tuna.
By keeping it out in the hot sun. Here in NC it's been over 90 degrees and humid! That'll make anything melt, including me.
This method isn't low-calorie or low-cholesterol, but it's a pretty standard method and makes a good tuna melt:Make them in the skillet, using either wheat bread, white bread, country white bread, or sliced Italian bread. Make a sandwich using either plain tuna or a basic tuna salad. Add a slice of Swiss, American, or Cheddar cheese.
Optional: Add some onions, tomato slices, celery, and/or dill cubes. For even toasting, melt a little margarine or butter in the pan, and toast one side. If necessary add a little more margarine or butter before toasting the other side.
A standard "pat" of margarine/butter will make a fairly greasy sandwich, adjust how much you use accordingly. Just melt the butter enough that it will coat the side you're going to toast evenly. Adding the margarine/butter in small pieces, rather than a single pat, helps it coat the bread evenly without having to leave a larger pat so long it starts to burn.
For a cheese-toast kind of exterior, shake in some Parmesan cheese while the butter/margarine is melting before placing each side of the sandwich on the pan for toasting. (Shake a little more Parmesan cheese before turning the sandwich to toast the second side. ).
Tuna Salad2 slices French bread (you can use Italian bread, Sour Dough or Oatmeal Bread my favorite)Sliced TomatoSliced Swiss cheese Butter or margarine Start the Tuna Melt with slice of bread, Swiss cheese then the tuna salad, another slice of Swiss cheese, then the sliced tomato. Butter a slice of bread and lay it on top of the sandwich with the buttered side facing up. Put sandwich in pan on medium heat.
Make sure you put butter side down in the pan. Butter bread that’s facing upwards. Cook for a few minutes until nicely browned, flip sandwich over and cook on the other side until it’s browned.
Remove from pan and it is ready to eat and enjoy.
Yummy...whip up your favorite tuna and let it sit out so it is not too cold! Take your favorite bread, I used to prefer an English muffin, toast it first (that is the key to crispy bread! ), spread some mayo on each side, maybe a little salt and pepper, lay on a good amount of tuna, place a slice of tomato on each half, then on top of that a slice or two of your favorite cheese.
Place it under the broiler set on low, not too close to the flame! Watch it for about 1 to 2 minutes. It will be done when the cheese melts.
Serve open faced! I am on a low protein diet and this is one of the things I miss the most! Enjoy one for me!
Or maybe two!
Make a tuna-mayo-sweetcorn-onion mix in a bowl... Butter some fresh breadSmoother the bread in the tuna mixAdd your cheese of choice...Put under the grillWhen the cheese is brown on the edges and bubbling...Its a Tuna Melt!
Well, tuna are hard bastards. You could write them a poem, or send them flowers. What about a box of chocolates?
