How do you replace the EGR valve on a '98 Expedition?

Br />I have a 1999 expedition 5.4 the same motor as the 98 . You will need metric socket's 1/4 " drive and a 3/8 " drive with a deep 10 mil. Socket .

Also a large adjustable wrench and a pipe to fit over the adjustable ( as a breaker bar ) take off the throttle body cover , disconnect the EGR pressure switch , (I HADE TO REPLACE THE PRESSURE SWITCH ALSO ) there are two nuts holding that on , remove , there is one bolt on top holding the black bracket on , remove . Take the adjustable wrench and undo the large nut on the EGR valve , this is where the deep socket comes in undo the two remaining bolts and remove the EGR valve , clean the surface very good . Use throttle body cleaner and clean the inside good .

Seal gasket and repeat . I hade the check engine code reset , and my gass mileage inproved . GOOD LUCK.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
