I just got through replacing my heater core on my 1993 Mercury Tracer and it isn't a picnic by a long shot. I answered this question once this week already, but instead of trying to give the complete answer here right now what I have done is to copy the complete instruction sheets off of a Ford Factory repair manual that I bought. So if you want a copy of these instructions, just drop me a line at [email protected] and I will e-mail you a copy at no charge.
I have been a mechanic for over 40 years and I know how frustrating it can be to want to do something and not be able to get any quality advice or answers. So feel free to e-mail me at the above address and you will get all the help you need John K.A.k.a. Scooter johnks4x4@aol.
Com p.s. That answer that someone left about the cost and hours of labor are probably correct, but if you have a few tools and some time, you can sure save yourself some money. I bought my heater core at Advance Auto Parts for under $35 mercury tracer.
3Working under the car, remove the hoses from the heater core. This would be a good time to replace the heater hoses if they are old. Hoses that have deteriorated won't seal to the new core.
4Plug the now-open ends of the core. 5Working inside the car, remove the console if it hinders removal of the access panel to the heater core. In the case of some models, this step is not necessary.
6Cover the work area with newspapers or rags to prevent spillage of antifreeze on the carpet.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
