A lucid dream is a dream where you're aware that you're dreaming. Because it's a dream, and you're aware that it's a dream, you can then control the dream. How you actually have lucid dreams is a whole other question, and I'm not going to get into it in this answer.

Edit: To elaborate on the clowns, I'm not too sure. In theory you would be able to control weather or not clowns were in the dream, but then again I've heard of people having lucid dreams that they couldn't control. E.g.

Being aware you're in a nightmare.

You are aware that you're dreaming. The best way I can describe it is like sleeping with your eyes wide open. I mean seriously, its just like that.

I had one where I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get out of bed. I was terrified, thinking I was glued to my bed. The dream looked EXACTLY like my room, its like you are awake but not.

Worse dreams ever to have. :-(.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
