How long can a 5-6 month old German Shepherd dog stay home alone for?

A pup of that age should not be left alone at all. It's not fair to expect a puppy to spend long days by itself, it will get bored and you'll end up with behavioural issues. I'm not trying to be mean, just realistic and I think you should not get the dog.

When we got our dog, the info we were given says that a puppy can hold its pee for its age in months plus one. So, a three month old should be able to hold it for 4 hours max. So, you really can't leave them alone all day in the house until they're about 6 months old. If you have a doggy door, then that's a different story, but you'll have to train them to use it first.

If you're just worried about the puppy being lonely and sad, they would get used to it. If no one who worked all day had dogs, then there would be a heck of a lot more homeless dogs out there. Although, it would probably be best in your case to adopt a slightly older dog (6 months plus), or wait until summer vacation, when you'll be home all day.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
