From what I can make out she isn't against gay marriage but is against legalising it (probably too controversial and they have enough problems like the carbon tax without adding this to it) Legalising marijuana has major consequences and again not worth sticking her neck out for. Plus with trying to limit tobacco (plain packaging) it is a bit hippocritcal to introduce marijuana...

Depends on one's belief or definition of freedom really. Marijuana will not be legalised in Australia, it would only be decriminalised (which I believe it is in most states now anyway). I personally think a re-think on drug policy is needed, but that is for another day.

Same sex marriage seems to be a very personal choice (yet only a small majority of the population would be affected, ironic?) I personally don't believe that marriage should be a government policy (law), as it means that it is now a legal term and therefore the current terminology of marriage in Australia is discriminatory (and in breach of the Anti-Discrimination Laws in Australia). Instead the government should legally adopt civil unions (or similar terminology) and then it is up to the individual to either use the term marriage or not. That way the government is only regulating the civil duty of registering unions and not actually determining the definition of "marriage".

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
