Julia Gillard is against gay marriage and marijuana legalization. How could she say she supports freedom?

You keep forgetting. The conservative "right" segmant of Christianity are incapable of understading either justice or tolerance. They maintain that: 1) ONLY their concept of religion or morality is allowed, or to be repsected.

2) All laws must respect their religious beliefs BUT NO ONE else are allowed THEIR beliefs respected especially by them. 3) Their concept of "freedom of religion" means that THEY must be free to follow their religious beliefs and EVERYONE ELSE MUST ALSO BE BOUND BY THEIR BELIEFS. NO ONE else is allowed freedom of THEIR religion.

Marriage is a societal institution and existed is all cuultures and all ages. It existed well befrore her own religion. Rachael, please wake up to reality.

They merely deserve to have their loving committed relationships given the same regard and same legal status as all other similar heterosexual relationships.

I don't think marriage, as it applies to something that goes on in a church, should be a legal institution at all. Marriage is a religious institution, and it should be up to the individual churches as to whether they will marry a couple. I think the government should grant civil unions to any two consenting adults who want one.

On the same hand, it is against the basic principle of freedom of religion to force a church that operates under the idea that homosexuality is a sin to marry a gay couple (under threat of ACLU attack). This is why marriage and civil union should be separate things.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
