I think the world is pretty much your oyster when it comes to different sauces for pasta. You have three basic ways to go about making a sauce. You can take the easy way and buy one of the many varieties of pasta sauce available in your local supermarket, some of them are very good indeed, there is a good selection and there is nothing wrong with saving some time if you are in a rush.
Another way, is to use a prepared bought sauce, but to make a few changes and add a couple more ingredients, such as red wine and red peppers to a tomato sauce. The third way is to make a sauce from scratch using a recipe and several ingredients. This will take more time, but the results can be excellent.
