How many hours of sleep do you need every night?

The sleep requirements for each person depend on many factors, including age. For example, in general: * Infants require about 16 hours a day * Teenagers need about 9 hours on average * Most adults need 7 to 8 hours a night for the best amount of sleep, although some people may need as few as 5 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day * Women in the first 3 months of pregnancy often need several more hours of sleep than usual However, experts say that if you feel drowsy during the day, even during boring activities, you haven't had enough sleep. ----quote---- Information quoted from webmd.com/sleep-disorders/sleep-needs.

How much sleep you need is a personal thing and depends on many factors such as your age and what kind of sleep you are getting. Six to eight hours is recommended for adults but some may need as little as five. If you feel drowsy during the day that is an indication that you haven't had enough sleep.

Invoice from York came the other day. I'm so totally fucked.No.

Most teens need about 8½ to more than 9 hours of sleep each night to be at their best.

The most I've ever heard any one say they needed was a girl in one of my classes who said she needed 14 hours! And the least has been several people who say they get by on 90 minutes or less. These were college age people.

So how about you? Asked by OldppieHatesNewAV 48 months ago Similar questions: hours sleep night Health > Conditions & Diseases.

I'm in the 40 to 50 year old age group.... I'm in the military and I work a midnight shift from 2200 to 0600 hours (10 p.m. To 6 a.m. ) and I sleep during the day.

This isn't easy to do in the first place and the body is not naturally nocturnal (you should be sleeping at night as opposed to any other activity according to my doctor) but I average, on most good days, 6 to 7 hours of sleep during daylight hours and this seems to work pretty well for my schedule.

About 6 And I'm 35ish...now don't get me wrong, if I can get more than that, I take advantage of it but it doesn't happen too often. Most days I think that I must be sleep deprived because I often fall asleep sitting up when I take a moment to relax. Six hours is far less for me than I used to need.

When I was in high school I used to really need 11, by college I still needed 11 but was getting far less. I hear that not getting enough sleep is cumulative, your body never writes off the difference, so to speak. So now we know what happened to Rip Van Winkle...one of these days, I'll sit down to watch Grey's Anatomy, realize that it is still a re-run and sleep for 15 years.

You will then be able to call me, RipVanSotWord.

I Need 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night. If I don't get this I feel real tired. Understand also that I work a reguar 40 hour a week job which sometimes turns into 45 to 50 hours a week.

I am 47 years old. When I was 15 to 20 years old I could do with 5 to 6 hours of sleep with no problems. I tried to get my 7 to 8 hours but it didn't bother me if I didn't.

Now I have to have my sleep in order to function. After sleep comes coffee, but that is another subject! Thanks.... Doc .

I need my sleep I like to have atleast 6-8 hours, but sometimes according to shift I work (i work shift work) it may change.

It varies I'm 55+. I don't sleep as many hours as I did when I was working full time. I go to bed later than I did then, but I also get up a couple hours later, too.So I guess it may even out pretty much the same at that.

I've always heard that the older you get, the less you sleep. I used to make it a ritual to lay down on Sunday afternoons & take a nap. I think I've done that 2-3 times in the last 2 years.

I feel so groggy & sluggish when I get back up that it's not worth it. Just a 15-20 minute doze in my recliner works better. Sources: sleep habits .

The amount of sleep people require varies by their daily activities and basic body chemistry. Most people should get eight hours of sleep each night, but many people do just find on seven hours while others require nine or ten.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
