How the world would change if people become immortal?

Agree with MickS: forever without decomposing - such as our soul/personality into robot bodies - with all the time in the world - every project would be 'in progess' - never finished. - also infantcide - or it would be too crowded for the elders........

I'm real sure there is a sci-fi book on this ...

Personally I consider Immortality to be a Blessing and not a Curse like other people might think it is.

But if you're Immortal you could do things you know the average person couldn't do and survive in the attempt.

You would see how life and history evolve all around you and experience things you wouldn't have been able to if you weren't Immortal in the first place.

You would still be around to see future Inventions, Advances in Science, maybe see humans start to visit other Planets or even to colonize them like in the Science-Fiction Novels.

You would have seen and done things that by that time other people would only have read in story books or seen in the movies.

Situation would be out of control since resources are limited and expenditures are limitless, water, oil, food, Land which already is scarce and due to multiple population explosions everything would be in extreme shortage.

People will turn to cannibalism, live on trees, professions will change, crime would rise, poverty, illiteracy would resurface.

But nonetheless it would still be totally awesome to actually be Immortal.

I think it completely depends on if we were to live forever in a damaged state, or in a state of perfection. From what I observe of humanity, an eternal human life is an eternity of selfish living - a damaged state of existence, one which would be miserable to live in. If this could be remedied, if humans could follow the Moral Law which they clearly demand in their conceptions of "fairness" and "justice" but refuse to act upon, then immortality might be a far more interesting and desirable state.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
