Boy, you have to go to Radio Shack. You need to take the video and audio out of the Motorola cable box and the VCR and run them to a switcher that you can get at Radio Shack. And then bring the audio and video out of the switcher to the TV.

Then you use the switcher to switch back and forth between the Motorola and the VCR. Using a splitter will only blur the two outputs together. You might be able to get it to work as long as you never have the power off on whatever deck you're not going to use.

But I wouldn't chance overloading the TV with two signals at the same time. So try that.
