I see the American dupes, who think that neoliberalism with a safety net spreead far too low, is socialism, are out again. Well, let's assure them it is not. Our public sector deficit in Britain is to a great extent the result of cuts in the capability and staff of HMRC, which has resulted in a massive holiday for obscenely rich tax evaders.
No doubt a number of politicians and senior civil servants have been richly rewarded by these criminals for wilful public sabotage which could, arguably, be said to amount to treason. However, we do need some cuts - such as the replacement for Trident and the American controlled nuclear submarine fleet, so that the Navy's resources can be focused on the real task of defence in the post cold war world. Also the drain of blood and resources that is British support, at British taxpayers' expense, for American imperialism in Afghanistan.
But these savings are, at best, a dressing on a wound that will not heal until we have abolished capitalism once and for all, and established a people's state and a people's political economy. To hell with the rich - to hell with capitalism - to hell with the edifice of lies they have foisted on us these last 30 years - it's time to make this country once again a fit place for the majority of its people to live in, as Attlee and Bevan did before - but this time, to complete their work by destroying the enemy once and for all!
Socialism is like being forced to give your money to one great big charity. 90% gets swallowed and 10% gets spent back on the MPs favourite causes, including re-engineering society. I don't support ANY non-essential public services.
The exception is to keep teachers and a basic NHS (British nationals only - foreigners buy BUPA). I would have added a basic mass transit system but that was sold off. Food stamps and dormitory accomodation for the starving - with support (including mental) to work on their lives.
Other than this, I require nothing from the government. If I want to join a leisure centre, I would spend my money on joining a gym. This will fill a market, allow businesses to flourish and provide what I want.
That is maximum efficiency and maximum choice, two concepts the Labour party love but can't and won't provide. Local businesses and minimum wages should be supported in filling the market for any services people think they need. If they cut services, they should be cutting tax.
They shouldn't have started them in the first place if they are so expensive. We're not walking cash machines, although it is clear that is what MPs think we are.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
