How will Obama respond that the 23,000 jobs that are lost at NASA as Space Shuttle program ends?

Mixed feelings...it was a good thing but maybe it's time to move on. There will be a lot of people out of work now here in Houston and that part is bad. And then too, so much of our city's history is tied up in the space programs.

I suppose that the Johnson Space Center will still be a part of what ever is to come but we shall see. I don't see justifying the expense with our country in the shape that it is now and feel that the money could be better spent on other things for a while. And anyway...if we made it to some other planet, discovered some kind of conflict there, then the next thing you know, we'll be sending troops and billions of dollars to it....I'm very much sick and tired of that particular scenario.

I am reminded of our race to space during the cold war and how we were shocked when Russia launched the Sputnik beating us into space. After that, it seemed like an obsession for America to do it bigger and better when it came to getting to the moon and into space. Well, those days are over and I think we need to re-look at our priorities as to how we, as a country, should spend our dollars.

The deficit is ever-growing and the rewards from space exploration are not saving our economy. Let space exploration become privatized and re-focus the millions that are spent on more critical needs of this country.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
