I am considering getting an iPhone, and dropping my home phone service altogether. Pros/Cons?

1 I don't meet your age requirements, but I haven't had a land-based phone for at least 6 or 7 years. There's just no reason for it in this day and age. My cellphone (also currently an iPhone, coincidentally) serves the purpose just fine.So long as you remember to charge it regularly, you'll be fine.

2 If you have internet then you have unlimited phone service through VOIP already (unless you still live in the 90's). As for wasting money on an iphone and signing up for a contract, go ahead if you want to, but right now I make and receive unlimited calls through my tablet (joojoo) with a bluetooth headset connected at all times, using VOIP on a 3g network (Cricket). So you can weigh the price, prepaid unlimited 3g internet + unlimited phone calls at the same time using Cricket prepaid 3g, and a tablet computer with a bluetooth headset, OR, you can waste money on an iphone which is pretty useless and totally mainstream (every self declared geek has one).

So whatever works for you I guess, but if you actually have internet then you should have VOIP, there is no excuse for that.

Caseycat*** replied to post #1: 3 LOL, MrItty! Wasn't trying to negate any input from those younger than me, but didn't just want input from people who have had cell phones all their teenage/adult lives. :) For someone who never even kept my cell phone on, unless I was using it, going to 100% reliance on one will be a big step.

Since you have an iPhone already, what do you think about the iPhone4 vs. the 3GS model? The price difference will be about $100.00. I don't care a bit about being able to have people see me when I am talking on the phone, so that part of the 4 doesn't make any difference to me, but what do you think about the other improvements and new features this phone is supposed to have?

I guess I am also just worried that I will lose the cell phone, if I have to keep up with it all the time. :(Thanks,Katherine .

4 I do not meet your age requirements either, at all, but I would recommend going down this route. The iPhone is not my personal favorite, but if it is what you like than that is just what you like. The only con that I can see is that if the phone is not charged than people may not be able to reach you, but this problem is pretty easy to fix.

I think you could save some money doing this. Or if you were interested in this, you could use Skype for your home phone service, it would be much cheaper than traditional land line and it is pretty cheap to set up.

"Has anyone ever used Magic Jack for a phone line? "I am trying to find out some information on the LG Dare versus the I-Phone. "Do you have floating cork flooring in your home and what is your experience with it?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
