1 I think the channels don't match up. I know the cable companies are squeezing as many channels as they can through the system. They're compressing channels down to 3MHz or less.

2 I'm not sure EXACTLY what you are trying to do, but if you're trying to pull in non-HD channels on a DVD recorder, it might be that the DVD recorder does not have the correct tuner bandwidth for the non-HD channels. With HD and non-HD cable, often, two different tuner specifications are required, and I've noticed that some newer HDTV equipment does not include the non-HD tuner.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
