If you lose a job because of illness or injury generally you do NOT get unemployment.............. if you lose your job because of school generally you do NOT get unemployment........... it is possible to be eligible for unemployment and go to school as long as you do not refuse a job because of your school schedule and you have proof that you were able to work full-time and go to school in the past. The fact that you had your work schedule reduced already because of your school will not help your case. Your co-workers have provided you with a lot of misinformation....... you must be willing and able to work and actively seeking employment to draw benefits.
If you quit a job it is possible to get unemployment but it is extremely rare. To quit a job and get unemployment you must prove you had "good cause" to quit, that any reasonable person would quit under the same circumstances, that the reason for your quitting was in no way contributed to by you, your actions or in-actions. If you are fired you will NOT get unemployment if the employer can prove they had "cause" to terminate you.
Excessive absenteeism is almost always accepted as cause and as such makes you ineligible for unemployment........... notice the differences in eligibility standards...if you quit you must have "good cause" to be eligible but if you are fired the employer only has to have "cause" for you to be ineligible....... besides the eligibility questions for unemployment there is also the matter of if you qualify for unemployment. Qualifying for unemployment is based on the past 15-18 months of earnings and if you have been working just part-time you may not even qualify. If you do qualify it will be for a small weekly benefit.
Do NOT quit...if you are fired you can and should file for unemployment but you need to realize that most likely you will NOT be eligible if you do qualify and meet the other criteria. Do NOT assume the worse, you need to continue to work and do your job to the best of your ability, if you are fired deal with it at that time. Continue to communicate with your employer, do everything you can to work this out...the more you do to prevent the job loss the better the odds are that you will get some help either from your employer or the state if it comes to that.
Nobody is suggesting you are doing this deliberately. But the company doesn't have to accommodate you either. If you don't qualify for FMLA, and you don't, they can fire you.
And you aren't likely to be eligible for unemployment if you're fired for poor attendance.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
