Good luck with that My husband had back surgery about 11 years ago, and still has back pain, I'll make a suggestion, either get a back stretcher, or inverson-table (ask your Dr. about it) Or get a monthly massage. That is what he does. All the meds in the world only help for 4-8 hours.

You may find relief in the suggestions I made. Good luck, Chriss .

You are going to have to talk to your Dr. One good one is, pardon the spelling, Oxy-codone. Very addictive but very good pain reliever. I have back problems as well.

Unfortunately what you are experiencing is normal. Back surgery to relieve "pain" in your back or legs fails nearly 90 percent of the time. That is a fact from my doctor to me.

According to my Dr. if you are doing the surgery just to try and relieve the pain you are probably wasting your time. And I am SO SORRY you are have this problem. I really am.

I have pain down my left leg. Cyatic nerve. The military wanted to operate on me for years and I would not let them touch me.

I have degenerative bone disease, bulging disk and arthritis in the lower back. STILL KICKING and working thanks to the good Lord. Talk to your Dr. I don't think anything over the counter is going to help that much.

Or see a "pain specialist". That is who I go to. My regular Dr. referred me to a pain specialist.

They are much better at dealing, just with, PAIN and relieving pain. If you can't find one as your regular Dr. for a referral. :-) Doc † God's speed my friend .

Ten years ago this could have been my question. I was in exactly the same condition you describe, post surgery and on heavy duty pain meds. Thankfully I went to a very special MD who had gotten her medical training in China.

In a matter of six months she turned my life around. Here's the short story of what happened: 1) She told me to buy The Schwarzbein Principle by Diana Schwarzbein, M.D. and she told me to following it like my new bible. 2) She sent me to a chiropractor/physical therapist who worked his magic on me three days a week for about three months.

3) She told me to start walking - first around the block, then around two blocks, and gradually work up to at least two miles a day. 4) She had me buy orthotics for my shoes and wear them any time I was standing up. 5) She gradually weaned me off the pain medications, saying they were affecting how my body dealt with pain messages.

6) She put me on a variety of supplements that helped my body deal with the inflammation and toxicity. 7) She gradually weaned me off all the prescription drugs my former MD had put me on. The major part of The Schwarzbein Principle deals with how and what we eat.

Very simply, she thinks we shouldn't eat anything that is prepared outside our own kitchen - no boxed or canned goods, nothing with preservatives or chemicals. All fresh fruit, veggies, meats, and dairy. No "damaged fats" meaning anything altered from the way nature made it.

Basically, I can eat all the butter or olive oil I want, but no Wesson Oil, etc. I stuck with this diet very closely for almost a year. I've since loosened up a little, but always go back to it the minute I feel pain of any kind. I stuck with this plan like my life depended on it, which it probably did.

I lost 30 pounds and greatly increased my stamina and mental well being. In less than six months the pain was gone! MRI's and x-rays tell me my back it still a major mess, but as long as I stay with the program I don't have any pain.

If the pain comes back, even a little bit, I know how to get it under control. I know this is not the answer we all want when we're in a heap of hurt, but there is no easy answer. Back surgery rarely takes all the pain away and nothing ever heals like God made it pre-problem.

I hope this helps you as much as it did me. I've had back surgery twice and both times had tingling, numbness around my hip, down my leg and feet. What I found works to reduce the tingling and numbness down my leg after surgery was BioFreeze on the affected areas. I buy the 3-pack Roller from Amazon.com and apply it 4 times day all over: the area of my surgery, down my buttock, all over my leg, achilles, knees, bottom and top of foot.

Yup... it would be easier if I could just dip my body in this stuff. The tingling and numbness went away after two weeks for me. I hope this helps you too.

Best of luck.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
