I have 6mth female staffy & 2 cats & want to get a kitten but cant cos my dog likes to chase my cats! What should I do? My female staffy dog loves chasing my 2 female cats not all the time,i want to get a kitten but cant because im scared my dog might attack it and kill it as it is known for staff dogs to do that when there after prey!

She is good with the 2 female cats I got sometimes in the home and she knows she not to go near them but when it comes to the garden she chases them off or she sees them in a room where they cant go somewhere high she barks at them and they run and she ends up chasing them I don't know if its her wanting to play but I does scare me sometimes and my daughter just recently lost her cat from old age and she has been asking me to get her another one but if I got one the kitten will be on the floor at all times and iam very scared my dog might go for it...what should I do? Talk to a dog trainer or other care professional In a situation like this one, I believe that it is probably best to get help from a professional dog trainer or other person that deals with dogs on a regular basis. It is possible that they will be able to provide you with information about how best to keep your dog from trying to chase (or eat! ) a new kitten.

There should be listings in the yellow pages for trainers in your area, and your veterinarian will probably be able to refer you to someone that they trust. Staffordshire terriers are good dogs, and I have no doubt that with a little help from a pro you will be able to get a kitten and still maintain a peaceful house! Sources: personal opinion .

My dog chilly a border collie x kelpie in my photo used to be a kind friendly dog to every dog ..... my dog chilly a border collie x kelpie in my photo used to be a kind friendly dog to every dog she met. But one day I was out side my friends house with her two little jack russels and the people who live across the road from her dogs got out(they let there dogs wander around all the time even tho they no that there dogs are agresive)a blue cattle dog and a lab and they attacked the smallest jack russel. Chilly straight away tried to help the little dog but I had her on a lead.My friends dad told me to keep her on the lead he ended up breaking a broom on the cattle dogs head trying to get it off his dog.

Then they went for the other jack russel and they had already ripped the littlest dogs jacket off. It was badley hurt and chilly was barking and whining and choking herself on her check chin and she broke the lead! And went for the dogs to save her friends.

They both were ontop of her ripping her to peices at this time I noticed the owners across the road standing there laughing at our dogs being almost killed by theres and finally after I was kicking and pulling there dogs away over and over a passing man ripped the dogs off her she was yelping for about 5 mins after she had a torn ear and bite marks all over her body and a bleeding eye(we took her to the vet by the way)Ever since and this was a few weeks ago she has been attacking every dogs she sees or hiding behind me and shes been loosing hair shes still nice to people but because of her breed not taking her for a walk isnt a option and im only 15 so I don't have the money for a behviourist please help me and don't say put her down please shes saved my life 3 times I cant even think about that option thats what my other friends dad told me to do please help me please tell me how to stop her doing this or help her get throught it shes stood by me throught tough times now its my turn to return the favour * 1 month agoAdditional Detailssorry I posted this twice I thought the first one didn't work1 month agoi would like to let everyone who was worried about the jack russels no they are ok now and that chilly does have friends like her best dog friend my friends staffy x pitbull who she seems to feel very confident and safe around we all walk around with about 8 dogs most times including my 14 yr old toy maltese x shitzu cassie and chilly is ok with other dogs when her friend hooch the pitty x staffy is around so I have been taking her for walks with him and giving her treats and time and she is much better its only been a day but already I can see slight improvments thankyou so much for your help my little kitten grey tabby tigger even follows us around for a few blocks which chilly like because there very close and sleep together and she cleans him and protects him while cassie mothers him and teaches him its so funny he thnks his a dog but thank you so much all of you = Sources: answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200... .

1 Do not get a kitten. Sounds like you have more than you can handle as it is. If you think your dog might "go after" a kitten, then you have no business getting a kitten and putting it in harms way.

2 Get rid of the dog then get a kitten. Keep the dog, don't get the kitten. Getting a new pet to replace a lost/dead pet is the wrong thing to do.

Your daughter will just have to get over it. Ditto what turbo said .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
