Apples are great for making into pies, cakes and crumbles. An easy apple crumble is to simply pare, core chop up 3 big apples and cook these over low heat along with 2 tbsps of sugar and a dash of lemon juice. When the apples soften, remove from heat and layer them in an ovenproof dish.
Cover the apple layer with a crumble made by crushing 8-10 digestive biscuits, 2 tbsps of salted butter and probably, a little brown sugar. Bake at 150 degrees for 8-10 minutes and voila, yummy apple crumble!
Apple Fritters --------------------
Ingredients: ------------------ 2 Apples (peeled and chopped lengthwise) 1 cup All Purpose Flour 10 cups Vegetable Oil 3 tbsp Granulated Sugar 1 cup Cold Beer Confectioners Sugar 1/4 tsp Salt How to make Apple Fritters: ------------------------------------------ Combine flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add beer and beat the mixture to combine. Heat oil in a heavy pot.Drop the apple slices in the batter. Fry the batter coated apple slices for about 1-1/2 minutes or till golden brown. Drain the fritters on paper towels.
