BEST IN THE WORLD! Place in roaster fat and skin side up. Bake @ 300 for 15 min.
/lb. (do not cover). Remove and let cool a few minutes, cut off skin and most of fat, leaving 1/2 inch of fat.
Score fat and brush glaze on all over top. Return to roaster (drain liquid off). Broil 3-5 minutes or until bubbly.
Cool down and slice. FOR GLAZE: in a saucepan place 2 cups brown sugar, 1 tablespoon orange juice, 1/2 tsp. , apple pie spice, 1/2 tsp.
, cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. , cloves and 1/4 tsp. , nutmeg.
I like to sprinkle a shake of garlic powder too. Bring this to boil and simmer 2-3 minutes. If it is too thick, add very small amount of orange juice at beginning.
While under broiler, spoon any glaze that had dripped off back on top of ham. This ham is requested every year at family reunions, it is the BEST EVER. I make a mustard sauce too for serving at the table.
The day before: in saucepan combine 2 beaten eggs, 1/3 cup vinegar, 1/3 cup sugar, 1can ( or .9 oz) dry mustard. Bring to boil and simmer (whisk frequently) until thick. Cool completely.
Add 1 cup mayonnaise, blend well. Cover & place in refrigerator. While cooking if it seems too tart from vinegar add more sugar.
This recipe is from a 90 year old woman that knew the original owners of a famous ham baking company. PS..you can also add a small amount of horseradish sauce to the mustard sauce if you want a little zip. Anniedoodie 47 months ago.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
