You should see a doctor to determine the source. Too many to list, but sciatic nerve being pinched can do a lot of different pains. I have recurring pains that move around in the hip and legs.
The doctor can advise where to go for some therapy that 'could' solve it.
Thanks so much for your reply. Lizzyline 8 months ago .
The pain moves around and sometimes isn't there at all. I woke up one morning and it hurt at one hip to walk. Today is OK, but move the wrong way and it comes back.
I am kind of stuck at home, being the caregiver for my 83 yr old wife. A daughter MD said that therapist could provide exercises to get rid of the pain. So far it hasn't been crippling, so I haven't gone to the regular family doctor yet.
I am 84 and pain is familiar to me .
I should have added that I didn't get an MRI. That might be much later after other things don't fix it. Google 'sciatic nerve' and that should give you some good reading - - - That is if the sciatic nerve is the problem....
I will look that up again now that I have a bit more information, thanks. Lizzyline 8 months ago .

Chiropractor, B vitamins and more may help.
The first thing is to realize that there's nothing wrong with your knee, certainly not a blood clot. Instead realize that some tiny nerve is acting up, perhaps being pinched somewhere. You're not going to die from this.
Go see a doctor who will know what to do, which may include muscle relaxants, nerve relaxants, or X-rays.
Thanks for the hope! Lizzyline 8 months ago .
Doctor. Doctor. Doctor.
We can't tell you why that is happening, so much less can we guess what to do about it (except to go find out why it's happening. ) .
Thank-you! I have seen a Dr. and am now awaiting a nerve condution study. I think nerve pain is hard to determine the 'why' but I really need to find out.At it's worst, I lined up in Emerge for 6 hours and really didn't get answers except to rule out a blood clot (which is good there isn't one).
I've never had pain like this before, where I have been afraid to go to sleep. I wonder if it is local inflammation pinching the nerve, or stemming from spine. I really appreciate your answers.

Nerve pain sometimes can be treated with nerve blocks or anti-convulsants like Lyrica and Neurontin (pregabalin & gabapentin respectively-generic names). Opiates don't work as well for nerve pain. So see your doc to see what s/he recommends.

Thanks! I was trying to avoid medications, but it may have to be done! Lizzyline 8 months ago .
After the conduction studies are done, you'll be able to get a better answer on what will help you. It's difficult to offer help when the problem is not entirely clear. Let us know what they find in the conduction testing (EMG).

Will do, thanks for your advise lizzyline 8 months ago .
Me too! Totally crippling then goes away. I had 9 attacks in one day and about crashed my car.My MRI showed spinal stenosis in my lower back and completely dessicated discs (I'm only 35!
). A nerve is definitely getting pinched. It was such a relief to SEE what was wrong, though I haven't decided on a treatment. I hope you have found a diagnosis!
.
I saw a neurologist who did a nerve conduction study but unfortunately wasn't at all helpful to discuss anything more than performing the test. She suggested if I need more testing that I go back to my family Dr. Very discouraging. The attacks have stopped with rest, but I am usually very active (running), for 6 months I have been afraid to run or anything incase I start the whole thing over again.
I can feel twinges every now and then so I know it is still there if I exercise. Thanks for your answer and good luck! Lizzyline 5 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
