I just changed the batteriesin the remotes. My wii will not detect one of them, and the other is on but the little hand will not show?

Try resyncing the remotes to the Wii. Take the battery covers off both remotes and press the red button that says sync. Then Open the cover of the small compartment in the front of the Wii console.

Press the red button there labeled sync. You should hear a beep first from the TV and then from each of the remotes.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
