Something for a 3-5 yr old or maybe clothes Well, there are always the toys designed for the 3-5 yr old range for him to play with, like toddler legos. However, I would say maybe a coloring book or reading book, that his older sibs or parents could read to him, as that will help encourage and build his reading skills, even without him knowing it. Coloring is a fun thing, esp with the new markers that only work on the special paper or are water based so they don't destroy stuff!

Also a cute shirt or outfit is always a good thing. Maybe a video or dvd of a show he likes... depending ont he child if he is smart and advanced a cute card, a small gift and then either $$ or a gift card he can spend it on might work too. I started to do that for my boys friends bdays(ages 5-14) and its has gone over well.

One of the moms was not sure how her 5yrold would do with a gift card, but he loved the independence it gave him and she also got to help him learn more about money and spending it and she said it has been a big help.
