I notice Mahalo just increased the standard tip for questions to $1. I like this! Is it going to be permanent? Is this a new reward system?

Last Thursday the 26th Jason announced that for 24 hours the default tip would be 1MD. mahalo.com/answers/one-day-only-default-... However we have yet to see a decrease and the dollar default tip continues to be active. I do not think there is any permanence to this J seems to like to play with the value of the default tip.

The default tips have fluctuated over time and nothing about them is permanent. I have not seen an increase in the overall value of the answers being given but I would suppose that is the objective in raising the default tip. .. to get more value from we the users with each answer given.

The advantage to a higher default tip is doing do injects a much higher amount of MDs into the Mahalo Answers economy than usual, kind of lining the pockets of those who choose to take advantage of the new tip level and perhaps some of these added MDs will get dispersed back into the community by we the users as tipped questions. I will go out on a limb and say that by the end of the weekend or possibly early in the coming week the default tip will be back to M$0.10 or some other lower amount again.

Or maybe the quality of answers has been dropping. What are the advantages or disadvantages of having the higher tip amount? Could it be increased even further?

I like the higher tip amounts because I am still motivated by the tip. Originally it was thought the askers themselves would buy Mahalo dollars and supply the tip. However, this assumption may not be exactly panning out as expected.

Anyone have information about the new policy? Maybe a backlog of questions has been developing? Or have people been losing interest because the 10 cent tip has been too low?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
