As Jaggedfrost said, it depends on what church and situation you're referring to.
I have some fervent opinions on all that. Maybe I will get around to writing a hub about it. In meantime, I can only say a few things------the true Church is in the hearts of all those who follow Jesus Christ/God; man-made, ritualistic churches fail at their very basis (I consider especially the Catholic Church a man-made church, albeit with some Christians in it as well), leaving the door wide open to sin which will remain unbridled until good reformation is ultimately made.
Forgiveness requires accountability, not hiding behind a church door. Religion will fail, but Christ never fails.
I can't answer more specifically because I dunno exactly what scandals you meant.
The church is one. There are many denominations but one church. The body of believers is called the church.
The building is not the church.
Whenever we disobey God we are faced with consequences. Scandals in the church result from disobedience to God.
It depends on what church one belongs to and your definition of Christian. It helps having living prophets who are so bound by the law of heaven that their lives are forfeit if they do not govern with justice or lead the church astray or allow evil to enter the church unchecked.
Churches are run by people, and people don't always do the right thing. Churches have the same problems that other organizations have: greed, envy, back-stabbing, etc. If all the people who went to church were perfect, that would be something, wouldn't it. The sad thing is that people who are supposed to be trustworthy, betray that trust, and hurt others who are looking up to them.
Any thing can happen in a church of man where there no God by choice.
Not sure I get the questio .............I guess I would have to say that man is and always will be imperfect. To view ourselves in any other higher peak closer to perfection would be ridiculous. Those involved should be punished , but forgiven.
Let the entire world have a stonining party and we would all get hit. That include you Pope.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
