Well, considering my only experience with diatomaceous earth was as a pesticide, and it was subject to the same stringent safety procedures to avoid exposure as DDT was subject to...in my opinion the negative side it that it is inherently hazardous to your health.
Well, beside the fact that you are eating pesticide laden dirt, that is not fit for human consumption, is not medical proven to do what it claims it can, and paying an arm and a leg for the privledge, what other down sides do you ned> .
My experience with it was a component of swimming pool filters. It's a mineral, and as such, would clog kidneys and livers. I think your first and worst negative would be kidney stones.
But then there are also whatever cancerous reaction the body has to putting such a non-food into it.
Fine to eat, not good to breathe in. But, remember it's almost entirely silica - the same stuff used to keep moisture out of products and the same stuff that is heated and made into glass. That just turns me off to it myself.
But it's your decision. Alissa, RN .
As long as it's "food grade" anyway. Not the same stuff used for Earth filters in pools. At all. It's not laden with pesticide.
It is a non-toxic pesticide in itself.
When I googled it, it said it was allowed to be used in animal feed (meaning it wouldn't pass through to harm humans). It said farmers use it in feed to keep the feed from clumping up. Organic farmers use it as a dewormer and possibly for other nebulous benefits.
I noticed that it had a lot of iron oxide in it (.5 to 2%). Sounds like it would be OK to eat. Cat litter is often made from it because it is a lightweight absorbent but don't eat that.
Get it from a feed store.
There are two kinds of DE. One is the kind you find in pesticides and in pool cleaner and the other is the kind they use on farms as a food additive to control internal parasites in animals. If you are trying to use DE to control pests in your home, make sure that you buy Food Grade DE only.
Food Grade DE can be safely ingested by both animals and humans and will safely and organically rid your home of fleas and other small pests.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
