Since you only let us pick one of four items, I'll say Conscientiousness I have the reputation with my coworkers as being honest and very hard working, however I think most people are a mixture of the four items you list.

Tread with great care - these terms come from a psychological instrument which is rather dubious. I'll not mention the actual test, first because it keeps changing its name, and secondly because their CEO has a habit of threatening libel suits even when it's criticised in a professional forum. But I believe that I recognise the terms (if these four are the only terms used by the test) and anyone who's asked to use it ought to know that it hasn't been peer-reviewed, and its theoretical basis is difficult to justify.

(If the test was in the form of giving you sets of four words and you had to choose the one that was most like you and the one that was least like you, we're talking about the same thing). I had a client who had been using it for some time, and he wanted me to incorporate it in some Development Centres I was designing for him. Because I won't give feedback on any test that I don't understand fully, I went to see the country representative for said test.

He was a saleman, pure and simple, and he couldn't answer the simplest of technical questions that I put to him. (For example: those four elements of the profile that you quoted - dominance, influencing, steadiness, and conscientiousness - are supposed to be statistically and psychologically independent. So I asked him to name me three people in public life who were dominant but not influencing, or conscientious but not steady.

Blank wall. When I got deeper into the theoretical basis, he started sweating). What's especially interesting is that when I published my correspondence with him in a professional forum, the CEO threatened to slap a libel suit on me.

In other words, 'Never mind the quality, feel the depth of my pocket. '). If you've been asked to take this test in a work situation, you should ask some serious questions about its reliability, validity, sensitivity to cross-cultural issues, fairness to minority groups, and so on.

(I can probably haul out a chapter on psychological testing to send you, or to abbreviate here, but it's very technical and would probably induce the Great Askville Yawn). Good luck.

1 AmendmentThis is called The Disc profile test, I took a course at The University of South Carolina, Moore School of business, this was part of the course, it is very broad, all you have to state is what personality you think you are, just for fun. There really is no right or wrong answer. Don't take it seriously.

2 OK, Raggedy, you've outed the test ... the problem is that there are plenty of people who do take this seriously, will base hiring and firing decisions on it, and it simply doesn't live up to the standards required of a good psychological instrument.

3 Like I said, all you have to do is just answer 1,2,3,4, the question wasn't based on what kind of test it was or anything else! I personally, don't care who takes it's seriously, it was just a simple question, for fun! Geez!

What should I ask when i'm being interviewed for a job.

How do I say no to a job after I have been interviewed and noticed i'm not interested.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
