What DanZee said, this is the only way to get your hardcopies onto your Kindle without having to buy them again in a Kindle, digital format. But with the cost of most Kindle books being about $10, your time and effort maybe better spend just to purchase the books again, because in order to get a decent document scan you will have to almost destroy your printed copies so that the pages will lie flat when you try to scan them.
