Yes, it is always the distance from the workplace to appointments, seminars, etc. It really seems dumb. You could live 50 miles from work and 25 miles from the seminar, but you could drive straight to the seminar from your home and then deduct 75 miles, the distance from your workplace to the seminar. You do not have to physically leave from the workplace.
You just have to do all the milage calculation from your place of work.
That is the same policy my employer has - we are reimbursed for the trip minus our normal commute if we leave from home and return home after the trip.
Thanks for your reply. It seems so silly to have to drive the other direction to the office first. Glad I'm not the only one.
Thanks! Sparkray 25 days ago .
Well, from what the supervisor says, it would appear the answer is yes.
You would deduct the mileage from your workplace to the seminar. So, Leave from home, and deduct the two miles. I mean, it's what?
Less than a dollar? You will save that not driving to the workplace, in gas.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
