If my period is late but a home pregnancy test is negative, could I still be pregnant?

My period is a week late (not at all typical for me). My husband and I have been trying to conceive. How often do home pregnancy tests give a false negative?

I am going to the doctor tomorrow. Will the blood test at the doctor's office be definitive, or could that give a false negative too? Most home pregnancy tests are 99% accurate one week after your missed period. So try a week after. Or you can go to your doctor to get a blood test.

3 When I was trying to get pregnant a friend told me the home pregnancy test are very accurate however she also said you are more likely to get a false negative than a false positive. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
