No - none of them are.! All claiming they are paying around 6% of their wages into their pension plans - BUT - no mention of the fact the government (taxpayers) pay (subsidise) between 14/25% (depending on employment level) into their pensions schemes....'they' never want to talk about that.! When these PS pension plans were agreed/decided on (big mistake) - we were living in the financial 'land of milk and honey' (a long time ago)....well - the financial milk has now gone sour and the honey has dried into a thick goo. As with 'all' people - the 'greed factor' has set in - no matter the country (taxpayers) cannot afford to 'subsidise' (14/25% contributions) these PS pension plans any longer. They are being asked to contribute a 'little more' and work a little longer - BUT - they are 'still' going to be subsidised by the taxpayers regarding their pension plans.
Very few people (seemingly) in the UK care whether the UK 'sinks or swims' - just like the Greek public ie:- far too many PS jobs were created on ridiculous wages/pensions etc that could never be afforded in the long term - the UK PS workers just demanding what 'they want' and they 'want it now' - no matter it cannot be afforded any longer. These PS workers are 'exactly' the same as these 1%'er business profiteers - take as much as they can for themselves and 'screw' the rest of the public (taxpayers) and they do it....without a second thought.!
Well they live more in the real world than the government, who can blame public sector workers for fighting for their pensions when we have a government that is making drastic cuts everywhere and upping duty and VAT to the point that it's breaking peoples budgets and families are unable to feed their kids. Still money is being wasted on fighting a war on terror in Afghanistan when it could be spent in much lower amounts defending our shores against the threat, millions are still been given in aid and more recently Mr Osbourne declares that he is willing to throw 10 billion into the Euro money pit. Politicians are taking the P and I bet they have a very nice pension when they retire after a career in screwing up the UK.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
