If the Flood was just local, as many theists claim, why didn't God just tell Noah to go to Egypt for a year?

Well, he probably did but Noah had always wanted to build a boat. He had been fascinated with boats ever since he saw one on the Black Sea when he was a boy.

He tried. But the messenger got flooded out.

Yup, it was local, and written from the perspective of those who survived.

You know how stories get bigger and bigger as time goes by. Alot of time had gone by between legendary time and the historical time writing of scripture.

The flood is a metaphor for the wave of bullshit that eminates from the mouths of religious morons.

If the Flood was just local there was no point in going to so much trouble to build a huge ark and gather all the food and animals. It would have been pointless.

Building a boat was easier. (You didn't think this question through, did you? You're asking why God didn't tell Noah to WALK to Egypt, right?600 miles through the Saudi desert.) no cars no trains no buses no planes How do you suppose they would have gotten there?

The only mode of transporation at the time were bipedal motion and a ride on black Kakkan mules.

There was no "great flood". If there was, what did everyone eat afterwards? Muck?

Yep. He had 100 years to build it. That's plenty of time to get out of dodge.

You have fallen for the exaggeration and embellishment of Egyptian history. Geological Evidence: 1) There is a mass fossil graveyard found all over the world throughout many layers of sediment that has solidified into sedimentary rock. Fossils are created when living organisms are rapidly buried with great pressure applied afterward.

A common way fossils are created is by flood waters carrying large quantities of sediment, burying everything in its path. 2) Marine fossils are found high up in every mountain range of the world. 3) Marine fossils are found together with fossils of land animals.

This is unusual since they live in different environments from one another and are not normally found together. 4) Whale bones have been discovered buried hundreds of feet above sea level. One whale has even been discovered buried in the vertical position.5) Fossils are found in all different situations of life: eating, giving birth, fighting, etc. This may remind you of the Bible verse……Matthew 24: 38-39.

6) Layers of sediments have been found extending over large regions of the country.7) Studies indicate that large amounts of sediment have been transported to the southwest from the Pacific Northwest and from the Appalachians. 8) There is no evidence of erosion between geological layers which indicates that many layers were laid down at the same time.9) Much vegetation is found buried in coal deposits.10) Leaves have been found buried in Antarctica. 11) Thousands of fossilized trees have been found buried vertically running through many layers of strata, thought to be millions of years apart.12) Mount St.Helens and Palouse Canyon indicate that moving water can cut deep, long canyons through solid rock in a very short period of time.13) Man-made artifacts have been discovered very deep in geological layers including coal deposits, thought to be millions of years old.14) Rocks, with known ages from recent volcanic activity, have been tested by Radiometric Dating and it has been shown that this method is inaccurate.15) Folded rock layers indicate that they were wet when they were bent.16) There are more than 270 worldwide Flood Legends.

The bible doesn't say local, that's just the opinions of christians trying to convert delusion into making sense.

Their was a local flood of the Black Sea. That much is a fact. It is not a far cry to say that some man who lived in an area which was flooded survived and passed on the tale, and it was written into the Bible.

But like most oral stories of this nature from the era, the facts changed with time. Maybe the man had a large boat already, and when he saw the flood waters, he put his family and a couple of farm animals on it to save them? That could easily be exaggerated over a century to be a man carrying every animal in the world.

Because Noahs job was to help save the local animals so they can breed again.

I do not know the specifics of the story, but if Noah was Hebrew, like Moses, than going to Egypt would mean persecution and enslavement. To protect him from these things, as well as the flood, the most efficient way was to build a boat to survive the local flood (in God's / Noah's eyes).

LOL so the floods was intend to destroy the wickedness of men..you are a person who sees things plainly as it is, go dive deeper into the Floods LOL.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
