If there ever was a World War, would the fighting ever reach the City Streets here in the United States?

It depends on what you mean by a "world war". When one uses the term "World War III", it's generally assumed to be talking about a war between first-world powers, all of whom are armed with nuclear missiles and long-range airplanes. There wouldn't be any "street fighting".

If that's not what you're talking about, you'd need to clarify further. The US is bordered by oceans on two sides and relatively friendly (and far less powerful) countries on the other two. Anybody else desiring to fight on the streets here would have to get here somehow, and that would be a very unpleasant process for them when fighting against a country that can blow stuff out of the water.

Yes, I was talking about a World War III. Thanks for filling me in. Leesa914 9 months ago .

God pity the nation that ever tries to occupy this country. With the total numbers of weapons privately owned by Americans, it would make the Iraqi insurgency look pale in comparison.

I often hear that, but needed some reassurance from some smart people here at Askville. :) Leesa914 9 months ago .

We've had two so far. I think what you mean is that many are purposefully predicting there WILL be a third. But to your question, "And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth" (Revelation 6:7-8). So God says, "Yep.
