If you feed your cat dry food, what shade are the pieces? Do cats really care about the shape?

I am in the process of changing up my cat's dry food to a lower calorie one.So I am reading the package of Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul Light Formula. They are promoting the special "X" shape cats love. Do cats really like the X shape better?

Mine seems to be eating it. She did eat Wellness pellets before. What shape does your cat eat?

Does she really care about the shape? Do you think it is more about the smell or flavor? Extra credit - what is the weirdest thing your cat will eat?

Ha! Great question! The weirdest thing my cat ever ate was.... well, I don't have this cat anymore, but his name was Killer and he went nuts over green olives.

I'm not sure what motivated me to stick an olive in his face, but he acted like it was catnip. He'd roll on it and bat it around and then proceed to eat it. But he'd spit the pepper out.(the red thingie) I have no idea what makes cats like dry cat food.It all looks (and smells) horrible to me.

I know that they seem to like the more expensive kinds when I'm on a budget though. I have a smaller cat (hence a smaller mouth) and she seems to do better with the smaller cat food such as Meow Mix. The older male cat- I get the indoor formula of dry food (although he prefers wet food) that has lowered whatever for his urinary tract.

My dogs are very indiscrimminating and will eat any kind of cat food. I think it's a good idea that you are getting a lower calorie cat food for your cat. thepetcenter.com/imtop/catweight.html Sources: google images .

I don't think they care what colour or shape as long as there is something in the bowl! I must admit my girl likes small biscuits and pellets and luckily (she's long-haired) will tuck into biscuits for fur balls. I think she likes fishy smells better than meat.My cat wants to try whatever is on my plate until I show her and convince her she won't like it.

She will eat chocolate, cheese, egg but so far nothing weird - but what do I know about what she eats outside? She likes her wet food mashed up, so I also try to buy pate` for the same reason, otherwise she will lick the gravy or jelly and leave the rest. How do they get us to do what they want?

.

X box of cat food... I have totally never heard of that - my cats will eat anything that smells good to them and they have never rejected shape of pellet - they don't like the real large ones tho. Our littlest eats the fish food when we feed the koi - at least she doesn't eat the fish....

The cat cares neither for shape nor color (tho they can see color. ) Smell and taste are all that matter. My oldest daughter's cat, which we're stuck with, not only "prefers" this Purina dry cat food, but only will eat this Purina dry cat food.It will ignore any canned cat food.

Actually, there is one other food it will eat besides the dry--poultry. If I'm eating chicken, turkey, etc., it'll park itself near me, hoping for an offering to the house master/god. If my mother-in-law is eating any of that, we have to find the cat and throw it outside or she'll give it her lunch.

And this is by way of saying that this cat eats nothing "weird" except the dry cat food; that stuff looks and smells nasty to me..

Personally I could care less, if they(my 6 cats) care about "what shape it is" I am far more concerned with the nutrients, whats in it(NO ANIMAL BY PRODUCTS! ) and who makes it. I DO NOT support certain pet food companies because they torture & kill millions of animals each year.

I just viewed the ingredients for the food your looking at....its pretty good..I ONLY feed my cats KATZEN FLOCKEN.... Now my 6 caTS ARE PIGS! They could care less what shape it is...as long as its tasty & in the bowl...My one male MAXX(who is FAT! ) uses his paw to scoop the cat food onto the floor, then picks each indiviual piece up and place it in his mouth....Honestly I do not think cats care about the shape....taste is what counts...and I think crunchiness.....

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
