If you had to choose losing your hearing or your sight which would you choose and why?

I would choose my sight! Most noises annoy the heck out of me anyway. I would miss some music, but without my eyes, I'd rather be dead.

I'm a photographer, writer, and watercolourist, it wouldn't do for me to lose my sight. I like music and playing the guitar, but they are not as important to me as the sound based stuff.

I love to read books , mags hubs etc, watch the odd movie , write use the computer see new places beautiful scenery as we travel , sunrises ,see my husband smile at me! Snorkelling wouldnt be the same not seeing the amazing colours etc.

It would be hard not to hear but I could write notes & read them.

I'd definitely choose sound over sight, because I really could not go without music, so much that is amazing to be heard, and music always stays with me longer than image.

Meh.. I'd miss it obviously but I always forget what things look like anyway.

Actually, both are equally important, Colors as well as Music... So, life cant be much beautiful without these....UNTIL you learn to enjoy the colors of your mind and the music of your heartbeat....... A world is surviving inside us.....For example, U can feel that when you sit all alone in a silent dark night, even there is no color and no sound... Life seems so beautiful there......So count your blessings.......Well thats my opinion.......Njoy...!

I would choose to loose my hearing. Loosing sight would be too much of a dramatic change. I have studied some sign language and feel that I could still communicate. As far as music, deaf people still really enjoy music because of the beat and base.

Hearing I wouldnt have to listen to the negitave thoughts of others.

I couldnt bear to lose my sight or my hearing ......To never see my 6 beautiful grandchildrens faces or to hear their infectious giggles would be the end of the world for me...however I suppose if I had to choose one to lose I would say hearing.

I am ready to loose both for a bit of insight without which enlightenment I cherish is impossible. I know a blind who doesn't want to see this world and states that the very handicap has made him what he is : a worthy singer.

I know I have missed alot because I have trouble hearing. Watching my childrens faces go blank because I couldn't hear the little things they have to say. Noticing how people judge by what they see before thay know whats going on.

I have met alot of beautiful on the outside people who were down right ugly on the inside, but people flock to them based on a visual.

I have found more beautiful people by listening to them, even though it's hard to hear them. Close your eyes and listen to the world around you, you hear the beauty of the chirping birds, the small talk from children, happiness in thier little voices. True we also hear bad things, but we also see them.

I would rather keep both my sense but my hearing has become quite bad, I wish I could have heard all that has been said to me, I would give up all I have seen for it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
