If you were going to start a family holiday or tradition, what would it be?

And decided this day you are going to start a new family holiday every year. You name the holiday, (what name would you use and why? ) and decided what new traditions you are going to chose for this holiday (name the traditions you would chose or how would you spend the day to make it memorable for every one in your family?

). Do you think this would be beneficial to kids? It would help bring the family closer?

It would give the members of the family to do things they always postpone for many different reasons? Would it help to have quality time together? Asked by SwanPrincess 36 months ago Similar questions: start family holiday tradition Society > Holidays.

Yes In general, just doing things together as a family for any reason or on any day helps the family bond and have better quality time. We have several special days in our family, they are adoption finalization days and we have a small party for each one. Normally its just us and close family.

Although this year my eldest wanted to have his special/best friend over for his, and I let him and he was so happy. We have "family day" each winter & fall and its a planned day where we just spend the day or weekend as a family doing fun stuff. Winter is done ont eh long weekend for MLK day, that way we can do it as a weekend event.

This one will be a mix actually, as On friday night and Sat until 5pmish is is just us, no one else allowed over. Its time for us to talk, play games, hang out, play legos, snow ball fights, etc. Maybe even do fake tattooes on each other. But in general its special time for just us to spend together.

Then on Sat night they can have a friend over if they want to do a sleep over and movie night and then maybe even let them spend Sun night as well, depending on the budget and such. The boys love this and so do thier friends. I would bet that most if not all will spend most of sunday if not all of it in their pjs/sleepers watching tv/movies or playing games or legos and such.

They all love to lounge around when I let them in their sleepers for a day. Last time we did this a few of the other parents were happy to chip in and sent pizzas and chips and stuff to help out and because they enjoys their own quiet time at home as well. But for me it allows me to spend time with my boys, and for them to spend time with each other, and the older ones get to see how much the younger ones look up to them and do what they do, so they know they need to be good role models and that is a good thing.

The Fall one we try to do outdoor stuff before winter sets in, so its often a day hike and a picnic or something like that. This summer we did a Fish day, and that day we all went fishing, and if you caught yoru limit you had to help the younger ones get theirs. It was a blast and I think that will be a repeat. As often we get others that tag along fishing and that is great, but I like to have 1 day where its just me and my boys and we all work together as a team to help fill the freezer and have fun fishing.

The best part was that in less than 30 min my eldest has his limit so he got to help his youngest brother get one so I could actually fish! It was great. They had a blast and so did I and to see all the smiles on thier faces when they had their fish was awesome, and even made the fall in the mud I did to try to net one for them well worth it.

Lots of places even ofter free gear and lessons and such.It can be a lot of fun for the kids and the parents. Both Dads and Moms! .

I would.... take the family down before Christmas every year and together pick out a "yearly" Christmas ornament for the tree, preferably one with the year on it! I tried to get my husband to do this when we first got married, lasted only 2 years. Oh well, I thought it was a good idea, guess he didn't when he told me to go get it by myself!

That ended that. But it's still a good idea for someone else to use, (hint-hint-wink! ) .

Not an annual tradition, but a monthly or even weekly 'Family Home Evening' such as the Mormons have. As a Roman Catholic, i’m a communitarian-minded Christian (unlike most Protestants, who emphasize individual salvation), so the thought of gathering in groups of friends and relatives appeals to me, despite how introverted I am. Insane though I think that LDS doctrines are, I have to admire a lot of the Mormon customs and practices, and FHE is one I find particularly worthwhile. It would be nice to get together with family and friends regularly for, for example, sociable play (such as cards or boardgaming), and the real winners would be everyone who got to enjoy the company of people they love.

2 Not trying to make you quit your idea but I don't think nobody else would like to participate since they won't benefit from that holiday at all. Why don't you try again thinking in a less self centered way? That would be nice!

Holiday What classifies holidays as national holidays and elective holidays who gets off with pay and.

Please share with me how you celebrate your Christmas holidays and any particular traditions you and/or your family have.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
