I'm looking to find a book I read a long time ago in school. I believe it was a juvenile sci-fi book?

I'm looking to find a book I read a long time ago in school. I believe it was a juvenile sci-fi book. From what I can remember about the plot this guy (an ex-police force guy, I think) fought some type of alien that somehow made him stink.

The alien got away but the stink on the guy never went away. And it was a stink so bad no one could be around him. He exiled himself to a planet to live out the rest of his life.

Years later he's called back into action because this alien is back. In the end he beats the alien and now, because it's dead, his stink is finally gone. He can have his life back...but he decides to go back to the planet to live alone.

That's all I got. It's not much. If you could even point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
